Interdisciplinary work and professional experience
My academic and professional path has moved across literary studies, interdisciplinary research, and the generative AI industry. These engagements have not always connected directly to my principal research, but they have let me work across fields and approaches to knowledge production.
Evaluating large language models drew on my training in English and in textual analysis. It meant examining meaning, context, coherence, and factual consistency, and it introduced me to emerging methods of human feedback and model evaluation. My collaborative publications likewise opened onto subjects far from literary studies.
My academic work remains centred on literature, particularly the histories and cultural memories of the Indian indenture diaspora. I see these other engagements as parts of one wider intellectual journey, not as competing areas of specialisation.
